A bore mop is the last step of a good cleaning: it carries solvent down the bore, wipes out loosened fouling, and leaves a thin, even coat of oil behind. Barrel Shark mops use a dense cotton head that holds liquid without dripping and keeps its shape pass after pass.
We size for Airgun shooters first. Most mops are built for centerfire Rifles; ours are made for .22 (5.5mm) and .30 PCP barrels and still fit the common rimfire and centerfire calibers in the same bore size.
Keep one mop for solvent and one for oil, and swap them out as they wear. A 6-pack keeps fresh mops in the range bag.
| Mop | Airguns | Firearms |
|---|---|---|

| .30 cal mop | .30 / 7.62mm PCP Airguns | .308 Win, .30-06, .300 Win Mag, .300 BLK, .30-30, 7.62×39 |

- Screw the mop onto your cleaning rod (8-32 thread). Hand-tight is enough.
- Apply solvent or oil to the mop, not the bore, so excess doesn't run into the action.
- Push the mop from chamber to muzzle where your Rifle allows. Use a bore guide on Rifles that accept one.
- Follow with clean, dry patches until they come out clean, then a lightly oiled mop pass if you store with oil.
Always follow your Rifle maker's cleaning instructions, especially on PCP Airguns. Full walkthrough: How to clean with a bore mop.
